Maeve Everbrill has a history with summer camps. When she was little, she attended Camp Swallowtail. After a disastorous summer, Maeve realizes that she needs to compartmentalize and hide her life in order to fit in. This works fine for her until the summer before her senior year of high school. Her parents uproot her life and move them out to a summer camp they recently purchased—Camp Swallowtail. Maeve, determined to find a way to make it home, pushes back against this decision. When strange things begin to happen around the camp and shadows of her past reveal themselves, Maeve begins to realize that she can't hide from the truth—or herself—any longer.
