Mark Leidner's chapbook 21 Extremely Bad Breakups, winner of the 2015 Newfound Prose Prize, is a series of interconnected short prose pieces on couples breaking up and getting back together again only to break up. In these fictions a breakup or lack of breaking up is like a butterfly flapping its wings a continent away and unleashing a weird, humorous chain of events in the romantic lives of others.
