Hey friends, In honor of Halloween, my very favorite holiday, I’m releasing one of my short stories as a single… what follows is A BOY’S TOTEM. A bullied boy in 1980s rural Iowa who makes a unique friend who isn't like any of the other children, not at all... and exactly how different is only revealed when the bullying threatens to turn lethal. This particular story, which was first featured in my horror collection THE LIVING AND THE DEAD, is special to me. That’s all I can say about it. That’s why I’m releasing it as a standalone.
