This series is about the things one would need to do and know to survive a civilization-killing event. The main purpose outside simple entertainment is that if it makes the reader think 'what if?' then it's started working. If it gets the reader doing more than thinking it's done its job. We think if the lights go out for an hour that things are rough- what if they were to go off and not come back on? Do you have food enough to carry you over until you can grow a garden? Do you have seeds that are non-hybrid? These are also called heirloom seeds and will replicate themselves from seed saved over. We can survive without an iPhone or a laptop or even a car, but we need food, water, shelter, protection from danger. These we must have- after that anything else is pure luxury.

After creating the 'Wolf Pack', an all-woman and very well-trained force of dedicated fighters, John's ladies continue their development with the addition of even more of these special women who wanted to be involved in making the country safer and to help build a new way of life. Life in the Canyons has taken a new road- one that promises to be very exciting. After an extended road trip to locate John's son Jack, word of problems in the Gulf threaten the supply of coffee and other goods that are being imported thru the efforts of John and his group. They soon find themselves heading into another dangerous situation.
