Grace is ready for a new life out west. When Grace Porter learns that her brother will be bringing a sixteen-year-old bride into their home, she determines that it’s time to start a new life. She joins a wagon train heading west, using money left to her by her parents to purchase a wagon, stock, and supplies. But while Grace is ready for a fresh start, shadows from her past continue to haunt her. Drawn as she is to the wagon master, Paul Spencer, and his orphaned niece and nephews, it is imperative for Grace to keep her distance. She should not be trusted with the wellbeing of children. An accident involving Paul’s niece reaffirms Grace’s need to avoid becoming part of Paul’s life. Other forces threaten Paul and his family, and Grace finds herself enmeshed in their lives against her will. As she tries to allay a child’s false sense of guilt, will she be willing to enter a season of grace for herself? For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11
