Marilyn Hopps is dreading the new holiday season. After three years without the love of her life, she knows the loneliness and pain that the season will bring. Struggling to make ends meet, Mari won’t even be able to lavish gifts on her daughter. Plastering a bright smile on her face, Mari is determined to make this the best Christmas she can, but her heart is not in it. Curtis has finally returned home from a land far from the brilliant hills of Tennessee. He is happy to be back as he cares for his aged mother, who is as much a child at Christmas time as anyone he has ever seen. Embracing the cheer of the season, Curt finds it a soothing balm to the pain and memories of battle. Will a chance encounter in a Christmas shop change everything as he guards, with love, those near and dear to his heart?
