巌から自身の余命を告げられた日を境に夜凪は芝居に没入できなくなってしまう。様子を見かねた黒山の助言のおかげで巌が託した想いの意図を知り、劇団の仲間のために自分がすべきことを見つけ出す夜凪だった。しかし、舞台公演を前に巌の容態が急変して──。

舞台特有の圧に呑まれ、思うような演技ができないまま出番を終えようとしたアキラは夜凪の突飛なアドリブに言葉を詰まらせてしまう。決められた台詞がない状況下で“正しい答え”を求め、戸惑う中夜凪はカムパネルラの役を通して、アキラの心に問いかける──。

舞台「羅刹女」の演出家・山野上花子との出会いによって想像力を広げる芝居に目覚めた夜凪。まるで神になったような感覚を自らに暗示させ、芝居の中では自分の空想の世界が絶対であるという山野上の教えを基に 夜凪は「羅刹女」の世界へ没入していく――。新たな表現力を身につけた夜凪は降板しようとする王賀美の説得に急ぐ！

「羅刹女」の公演まで残り数日。稽古は佳境に入り、出演者はそれぞれの思惑を胸に抱いて、迫り来る本番に思いを巡らせる。そんな中、サイド甲の演出家・山野上は夜凪が羅刹女を演じる上で、真に力を発揮させるためのある仕掛けを用意していると王賀美たちに告げる――。

サイド甲の舞台「羅刹女」は、王賀美の助演としての機転により、夜凪が演じる怒りに荒れ狂う羅刹女を、観客の共感対象に仕立てることに成功し、第一幕を終える。しかし、夜凪の怒りは収まることなく、激しい憎悪に飲まれそうになりながらもギリギリのところで踏み止まる。限界がいつ訪れてもおかしくない中、舞台は第二幕の開演へ――。

波乱のラストシーンで幕を閉じたサイド甲の舞台「羅刹女」1日目。夜凪の才気走った圧倒的な演技を目の当たりにした千世子は、自分の虚像の芝居では敵わないことを痛感させられ自信を喪失する。翌日にはサイド乙の公演を控える中、黒山が稽古と称して彼女を連れ出した場所は――。
