
Aimee Dearmon is a fiction author. Her work has appeared in several magazines both online and in print. Her short story, Blue Dirt Filling Station, was nominated for a Million Writers Award and was mentioned by storySouth magazine as one of the most notable stories of 2010. Part of her short story, A White Rose, was adapted and performed in the finale of Elinor Jones' A Voice of My Own by the Evergreen Theatre Ensemble in celebration of local female authors. Like the heroine in her novel, Blue Dirt, her first job was as a gas station attendant at a full service filling station in rural Alabama. She went on to study at Alabama Southern and University of South Alabama. She is a nurse, mother of three and currently resides in Mobile, Alabama. Blue Dirt is her first novel. She is currently at work on her second, Closing the Door, which she hopes to publish in the near future.
