Alex Koster is a mum, teacher, mindfulness practitioner and author/blogger living in County Tipperary, Ireland with her husband, two young daughters and their Golden Retriever Harry. Originally from Germany Alex moved to Ireland in 2000, where she had previously met her now husband Michael, while spending time in Ireland as part of her teaching degree. She is passionate about moving away from the focus on academia and competition in education, and adapting a more inclusive, wholesome and child-centred style of education and parenting. Alex believes that the early introduction of mindfulness skills can provide a vital base for children and adults to weather emotional storms and our ordinary day to day life with a little more ease and awareness. Especially in our current times and our modern day challenges of the influence of social media, smart-phones, a growing mental health crisis and big changes in the way children are being raised and educated, she believes that a mindful lifestyle can contribute to more connection to ourselves, others and the world we live in, lowering stress and anxiety, and a generally happier and content life.
