Allyson recently released her debut novel, Kiakora: A Flame of Sorrow, the first book in a trilogy. She is a former NYC high school ELA teacher and a mother of two young boys, Warren and Malcolm. If cast in a story, one would be the reluctant protector, while the other would certainly embody the "enemies to lovers" trope. Both have the truest of hearts, though they can be morally gray—especially when asked questions like, "Who started it?" "Who broke this?" and "Why did you hit your brother?" Along with these two "MMCs," Allyson shares her home with her very own Rhysand/Kingfisher/Xaden—take your pick, as he embodies elements of each—and a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Goku, who, unfortunately, does not live up to the world-saving bravery of his namesake. Though she calls New Jersey home, Allyson is grateful for books that allow her to travel regularly and inexpensively to magical worlds.
