Amar's debut novel NRI:Now, returned to India is the first in the book series featuring the protagonist Amol Dixit. A self-described nomad, Amar has lived in fifteen cities over the past twenty years, including the two years he spent at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign as a graduate student. Amar returned to India in 2008 after living for nearly a decade in the United States. Two years into his Indian adventure, he went to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad for his MBA. Presently he lives in Bengaluru (Bangalore) in India. NRI:Now, Returned to India is Amar's debut novel. Finding time to write everyday while managing a full time job and nearly five days of travel every week has been a challenge, but he hopes to release the sequel to NRI: Now, Returned to Indian in October 2015, followed by one book every quarter in 2016. In his own words, "My debut novel is a seller, but by no means a bestseller. But as they say, the best is yet to come." In his spare time, Amar likes exploring offbeat places, learning Gujarati from his wife, spending time with his dog, Buddy, and exploring his new hometown- Bangalore. Amar has shared his journey as an author on Dan Dynneson's Bestselling Fiction podcast, and through blog post on eBooks India.
