
When a twenty-something girl packs up and moves to New York City, she expects a lot of things: excitement, glamour, and endless opportunities for adventure. However, she probably doesn’t expect those adventures to involve flirtations with homelessness, viral internet notoriety, or a revolving series of dead-end survival jobs. Nevertheless, this is exactly what Eve finds when she arrives with little more than the boundless optimism of youth and a drive to make the world a better place. As she searches for ways to turn her idealism into concrete political action and figure out exactly what it means to be a good person, she winds up drowning in a sea of freaks and weirdos whose self-interest and personal shortcomings seem staggering, until she is forced to confront her own.
