An aspiring artist, Millicent Harkness, hopes to exhibit her work at the London Midsummer Fair. The Earl of Matlock, in charge of the show, refuses to let her display her artwork. She needs an ally with some clout. She hopes that Brandon Avebury, Duke of Melbourne may be willing to help her.
