The year is 2035. Aleksey Drilnov, known to everyone as Alek, has lived his entire life in an underground bunker underneath the Russian town Spas-Klepiki, where a hundred people sought refuge after the nuclear war in 2013. Here, life continued after the surface was deemed inhospitable. People go to work in the morning, the bar on Friday nights, and the church on Sundays, just like before. They are all safe. And while the old world outside the bunker is not forgotten, it no longer matters to anyone. For Alek, the bunker is his entire universe. He has never seen the real world outside, and can only rely on stories from people who got to experience it before going underground. But one day, everything changes, and Alek is forced to look for answers. He knows it's dangerous. That the deeper he goes, the harder it will be to turn back. But he can't stop. Perhaps it's his destiny? \——————————————————————————— Apprehension is inspired by the Metro universe, a fictional world created by Russian author Dmitry Gluchovsky. This is a fan-made novel and not part of the official Metro series. Thus, I do not own any of the rights to the Metro franchise. While I do recommend that you read Gluchovsky's trilogy before indulging in this book, Apprehension works just as well as a standalone story for those not familiar with his masterpiece.
