Studied at Escola de Artes Decorativas António Arroio and Lycée Français Charles Lepierre in Lisbon, he started his career at the newspaper O Século. He was an editor at several newspapers, such as O Diário, República, Europeu, Almaque, Seara Nova, Gazeta Musical e Todas as Artes, Época, Sábado e Diário Popular, where he stood for two decades.
