A cat urn has never caused so much trouble. Despite being a tenured psychology professor at her New Mexican university, Maddie Swallows is used to being overlooked. Even so, when the department head announces he’s retiring and looking for a replacement, she knows that job is meant to be hers. As long as she can beat out her husband and the other two tenured professors. But then the department head’s beloved cat urn goes missing, and Maddie’s earring is found at the scene of the crime. With her as the prime suspect and a looming deadline to figure out who the real thief is, the promotion is now the furthest thing from Maddie’s mind. Not when so much is at stake. Her job. Marriage. Reputation. Maddie needs to put the textbooks aside if she’s going to figure out who in the psychology department would steal that urn, and who disliked her enough to frame her for it.
