My five boys have taught me first-hand that our nation’s mothers are the strongest among us. They steadily endure the most important job in the world while being told it is not real work. They shield their children from evil in a culture that views them as weak and vulnerable. These quiet lights do all that they do, with a reliance on God and humble smile. They finish each day satisfied but exhausted, thirsting for appreciation, thirsting for encouragement, thirsting for a hero . . . their hero. I wrote the story of Hannah (God, Hide Me), so that moms can have that hero.
