I wish I could say there are moments in life I’ll never forget. Times like meeting the love of my life, marrying him, or finding the ultimate career success. But all of those things are locked away in shadowed corners of my mind where trauma has blocked the light from shining. I’m an amnesiac who can’t figure out how I crafted this life, who I can trust, and, frankly, if I’m even safe in my own home. My husband is gorgeous, stupid rich, and … dangerous. I don’t know if he’s the reason I “fell.” Big quotes there since no one knows how I ended up over that cliff face. There are also glimmers telling me he’s dark, perhaps even sinister. A grumpy-sunshine, marriage of convenience romance between a German Shepherd hero and the brainiac girl next door. I could’ve done without several things on moving day. The movers. The fight in my living room. And certainly the lawsuit that followed the whole debacle. I can thank my cranky new neighbor for that one, even if he did save me like some knight in heather gray sweatpants. Why he thinks marrying him is the solution to our problems is beyond me. It's a terrible idea. But it's not like I'll fall for Liam Murphy. I couldn't. Not for someone that brutal, tatted, or surly. Even if he is gorgeous and casually charming. He's a moral question mark with a body count, in both senses of the word. I'm a nerdy biochemist, a serious researcher in sensible pants, and so not his type. He’d never look twice at me. Aside from lying to everyone, having to live with the grump, and the pesky wedded part, what could go wrong?
