
ASYA SEMENOVICH was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1967 and immigrated to the USA in 1992. After obtaining her Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1996, she pursued a career in financial technology, working as a senior executive on Wall Street for many years. Following her life-long passion for literature, she decided to leave her full-time position in the industry to work on her writing. She completed the science fiction novel Fire of The Dark Triad in 2019 and is currently working on the sequel. Fire of the Dark Triad has been nominated for the prestigious British Science Fiction Association award (the BSFA) for best novel of 2021 alongside some of the best-loved science fiction authors writing today, including Kazuo Ishiguro, William Gibson, Andy Weir, Neal Stephenson and others. Past winners of the BSFA Novel Award, which has been presented since 1969, include Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Terry Pratchett and Iain M. Banks. Asya lives in New York City with her husband, daughter, and Niko, her standard poodle. Asya’s path from mathematics to writing and her novel Fire of The Dark Triad were featured in the recent film Married To Math.
