I was born in Toronto, Canada. We were a small family, two parents and two daughters. My father wrote advertising copy, a pioneer in that business in Canada. I graduated from St. Michael's College, University of Toronto and worked for a short time in a branch library of the Toronto Public Library System. I married Fred O'Hearn and stayed home to raise our five sons and continued to cottage on Georgian Bay as I had every summer since I was a child. After a bout with cancer, I began to write professionally. The teenage field suited me and I published four young adult novels, the main characters being, understandably, teenage boys. The titles are The Two of Them and Me, Me and Luke, Rob Loves Stell, and Future Thaw. Me and Luke was translated into French and German and optioned for a movie in Canada and the U.S. Along the way, I tutored high school students in reading, helped in a nursery for disabled children, was a school mentor and volunteered in a library for children's social workers. In short, if there were children and books, there I was. Now widowed and the grandmother of eleven, I recently moved to Midland, Ontario, a beautiful town on the Georgian Bay, both historic and four season recreational.
