Augustine (Gus) Meijer was born in St. Joseph, Michigan in the late 1950s. To say that he's led an eclectic life would be an understatement. Over the years, he has worked for a funeral home, studied and was employed as a gemologist, was the vice president of a national retail firm, became an ordained minister, and served as a hospital chaplain. Meijer is known for both a gentle heart and a sarcastic wit. After living and working throughout the United States, he and his wife settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most recently, he served as Head Chaplain for the thousand-member Albuquerque Police Department.
