Roald Dahl was my favorite writer as a kid. I thought he was a genius! His books were filled with such an interesting sense of adventure, each with a specific charm that left you craving more. Growing up I seemed to graduate away from fantasy and on to horror and crime. Though these were never my favorite genres, I found the suspense threading each story together addictive. I was fascinated by the tension in these books and became hooked. However I think the book at the top of my all-time list is Tuesdays with Morrie. I know it’s a common favorite but I just found it so thought provoking. As a writer my aim is to take all of the best features of each genre and create a new brand of young-adult fantasy
