Ben Herr is thirty-one years old, and resides in the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. He has three hobbies to help him pass time, observing Trolls, which causes Ben to spend most of his time exploring tunnels, sewers, and of course, bridges. More often than not, these adventures require him to take long, hot showers upon completion. His second hobby is mindlessly staring at a computer screen in hopes of finding the perfect combination of words to form what some might call stories. His third and final hobby is being the supreme-commander of a dragon army. Ben started his writing career at the age of eight when his teacher assigned the class a project, write and illustrate a short-story. Ben wrote, The Bad Dream. Due to popular demand he eventually penned two sequels, The Bad Dream II, and The Horn Lady’s Wedding. Unfortunately his teacher deemed the stories violent, and Ben was ultimately committed to a mental institution. When Ben was seventeen his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. To escape the harsh reality of the situation, Ben constantly locked himself in his room, played epic-power-metal albums, and let his imagination whisk him away. After his mother died, he declared he would become a writer, and thus began his life-long passion. It was around this time he started creating Alynia Sky. Eventually, and completely due to luck, Ben found himself writing for a magazine. He will never-ever disclose the name of said magazine, or the pen-names he used. However, having an editor yell at him every week, for several years, helped him become a better writer. On December 21st, 2013, Ben finally released Alynia Sky, The Beginning and the End. He has most of the series written in his head and intends on releasing the second installment, Alynia Sky, The Northern Woods, on March 21st, 2014. In the meantime he is preparing to release two illustrated children’s stories, Kung-Fu Foot, and Guppy the Puppy. In addition to working on future installments of Alynia Sky, he is also writing a couple satirical fiction books, The Tales and Chronicles of Lightning McGee, and The Untold History of Trolls.
