
Dr. Berend Mets was born in Indonesia of Dutch parents, has lived on four continents, and amongst other countries grew up in South Africa, where he became a doctor, anaesthetist and scientist. He came to writing fiction after a career of medical and scientific writing and has published two books for the lay person. Waking Up Safer? An Anesthesiologist's Record. And: Leadership in Anaesthesia: Five Pioneers of the Deadly Quest for Surgical Insensibility. Berend is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the Pennsylvania State University and has recently completed a Master in Fine Arts in creative writing at Carlow University. He divides his time between, America, the Dutch Caribbean and Cape Town, South Africa. Immorality Act is his debut novel.
