Bernice Lerner is the author of "All the Horrors of War: A Jewish Girl, a British Doctor, and the Liberation of Bergen-Belsen"—a dual biography of her mother, teenaged survivor Rachel Genuth, and Brigadier Glyn Hughes, a high ranking officer in the British Second Army who, in mid-April 1945, suddenly found himself leading rescue efforts at the notorious (and then largest) concentration camp. Bernice's first Holocaust-related book, "The Triumph of Wounded Souls," profiles seven survivors who, after having missed years of formal schooling, went on to earn advanced degrees.
