Scott's first work was doing painted covers for a book called The Watch published by Australian comic book publisher Phosphorescent Comics. In December 2005, Wizard magazine featured Nicola as a "Talent to Watch". More recently, she has collaborated with writer Gail Simone on DC Comics properties such as Birds of Prey and Secret Six.[3] She is also responsible for the pencils on the successful Wonder Woman tie-in to Blackest Night. In July 2010, it was announced that Scott will be taking over art duties for the Teen Titans as of issue #88. Her work on with Angel Spotlight: Illyria #1 was praised by reviewer Adam White of Comic Critique, who stated, "Scott captures the immensely nuanced emotions of Illyria as if Amy Acker was there acting on the page."
