An explosion in St. Albinus rocks more than just the town centre when the victim turns out to be someone from Maggie’s past. Mack pretty quickly decides the two of them have to find the killer, because the victim had a lot of skeletons in his closet—literally—and it’s going to take someone who was around back in the day to get to the bottom of this. Meanwhile, someone around town is spreading rumours about Mack, and she’s pretty sure she knows who’s behind them. And how come Aksel seems to magically be involved in every case Mack decides to investigate? As the case progresses, Mack discovers that some people will stop at nothing to let the past stay in the past, and that includes targeting the people she loves.
