I was born in Hungary, but at a very young age. Before I turned 14, my stepfather transported me to Australia for the term of my natural life. This was to prevent a murder (his or mine, depending). This story is the basis of my award-winning biography, Aniko: The stranger who loved me. Also, my novel Ascending Spiral is based on my personal experiences, fictionalised to protect the guilty. Thanks to a number of angels, such as a school principal, and a scoutmaster and his wife, I got my act together and did well. I have retired 5 times so far, from 5 different occupations, but still working as an author (17th book was published in June, 2018: http://bobswriting.com/hitandrun.html ), editor, environmental activist, and professional grandfather.
