Hidden Boundaries
2011
Carhagen is a nation that’s modern in everything except its centuries-old system of institutionalized slavery. Once a person is enslaved, whether for debt or crime, or for simply being a child, there is no way out. Corellos Montaigne, once on the path to marriage and eventual inheritance of his father’s business, is now Cor, the property of a wealthy landowner and politician. Jordane Alcot needed a secretary, but something about the newly enslaved, still defiant man also spoke to his own painful past. Cor can’t understand his generous but strangely contradictory master. Alcot can’t find a way to help Cor adapt to the loss of his freedom. Bound together by law and custom, they must work through the pain that they bring to each other. Hidden Boundaries is a dramatic look at slavery, the loss of freedom, and the uses and abuses of power. It involves romantic male/male relationships, no graphic sexual content.

Crossing Boundaries
2011
Sequel to Hidden Boundaries. The comfortable life that Cor and Jordane have shared for two years is turned upside down when Jordane impulsively buys an abused young slave. Cor finds himself having to come to terms with being a free man in a slave nation. For the welfare of others, he’s forced to put aside the past that still haunts him, and make choices that go against his every instinct. Jordane’s purchase of a young slave is the catalyst for major changes in the life he shares with Cor. Is it enough for Cor to be his lover and estate manager, or do they both need him to be something more? The horror of slavery in Carhagen comes closer than ever, and Cor must decide where he stands.
