When Dylan's dad died, it was no surprise that her flakey mother called her half brother to come and get her. The first few months in New Hope hadn't completely sucked. Dylan graduated high school, made new friends and only got in trouble a handful of times, despite her best efforts. Being displaced and feeling unwanted by the woman who birthed her, Dylan finds herself seeking refuge at Happy's. Brad lives a simple life, he runs Happy's, goes shooting and keeps to himself. That is until Dylan walks into his bar, orders a piece of cake, a raspberry lemonade and then starts signing happy birthday to Hillary Duff. As much as Brad may not like having her there, he sees beneath her snarky exterior and that has him allowing her to use Happy's as her safe place. After New Years everything changes. Not only has Dylan convinced Brad to let her work for him, he's starting to have feelings for her. Brad and the girl off limits is an age gap rom com set the fictional Australian town New Hope.

Amber Davis is an avid reader who after lots of encouragement from her friends, decided it was time to put pen to paper and write the book that had been niggling at her for some time. Amber suffers from multiple autoimmune and invisible illness diseases and because of this, some of these illnesses are discussed in her books through the life of some of her characters. She is passionate about bringing awareness to these conditions. She owns a merch printing company with her best friend and has a whole bunch of other projects on the go. When she isn’t working or reading, she’s binge watching TV shows and re-watching ALL the Disney movies, especially the classics. She’s a massive fan of all things Disney and has quite a large collection of books and Elmo’s. Amber is originally from Queensland but has been living in Melbourne with her dog Bella for the past 7 years.
