"Should we be doing this?" I asked. But I didn't want to stop... Finn and I have been best friends for years, now. But when the summer before college started, I felt like I was going to lose my best friend. We were going to different schools in the fall, and though Finn swore nothing would change between us, I knew better. Finn suggested we make the most of our summer together, and do the one thing that had always brought us ride the waves. We hit the water and couldn't help but play a silly game of 'chicken' like we always did. But when I tried to be a big shot, I ended up in the E.R. I feared our last summer together had ended before it even began. Little had I known that Finn would be by my side for the next few weeks, helping me in every way. When one night he stayed over, we ended up getting closer than ever before. I didn't know what to do; I'm straight, after all, and I knew Finn was, too. But not everything is black and white. And sometimes, you have to be brave enough to go the distance. I might've gotten hurt on the water, but I knew what I wanted and I wasn't going to fall off, again, even if it led to the most unthinkable night of my life.
