As a native southerner where telling old tales is commonplace, Brittany Barefield began a love affair with writing as soon as she could hold a crayon. Throughout adolescence, she enjoyed penning poems and short stories and escaping into books from every genre. She earned an academic scholarship and graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and a minor in criminal justice. After college, she served in the U.S. Army where she met her husband. They now live with their young son and daughter in the Midwest. She is a multi-published author of comedy, mystery, sci-fi/horror, romantica, paranormal and historical romances, and 3 children's books (The Barbell Boss Hog, The Cow Bully, A Boy and His Cat) after having worked as an elementary school substitute teacher. Her debut novel, Lust for the Soothsayer, was published in 2012 by Siren-bookstrand; her short story, "Enslaved," was published in 2013 by the Wild Rose Press. Her horror, How Frankenstein Did It was published by Wildflowers Books in 2014. Visit her at amazon.com/author/brittanybarefield or like her on facebook.com/britt.barefield
