My new novel, 'Here Casts No Shadow' was published on the 28th April. 'Here Casts No Shadow' explores the impact of war, exile and trauma on a family and the devastating result of a single act of revenge. Tragedy and lost love haunt the book but, in spite of all she has gone through, Mira - the narrator - creates a new life for herself after the devastation of war. My collection of flash fiction and short stories 'Not Here, Not Us' - which explores the crisis in Syria - was published in 2016. My debut novel, 'A Bird in the House' (2014) tells the story of Ahmed and his father - Libyan refugees living in England - at the time of the revolution in Libya. I visited the Libyan desert in 2011 and this experience inspired the novel.
