About the Author Brooke Dennehy Lakin is an author, musician, mother, and cultural anthropologist from Aotearoa/New Zealand. After spending four years at Victoria University of Wellington, she left with a first-class honors degree in Cultural Anthropology and a full scholarship to return to complete her Master’s thesis. Alas, fate had its way, and Brooke met her soul mate and life partner while doing her ethnographic fieldwork. After having their first child, the project of the family became more important and fulfilling than that of the academic path, and Brooke gave up her studies while still following creative pursuits in her free time. Writing has become a way to express her love of life, of true love, and of spiritual meaning, while also exploring the world of cultures and human relationships through storytelling that soothes and inspires the heart and soul.
