Wilford Bailey is a writer with a thirst for ghosts. He visits the town of Ulverstone in Cheshire where he hires a narrowboat and cruises along the town’s now empty but once burgeoning industrial arteries. He begins to chronicle elements of an old folk tale revealing the legend of a ghost called ‘Aggie’ who the locals are fearful to speak of. As Wilford sets out to complete his third and possibly his final book, he discovers that what he seeks, he is sure to find. He also discovers to his horror that if he dares to knock upon old sepulchral doors to the past, sometimes they are opened. Another ghost story in the traditional style from the author of Olde Tudor.
