I grew up as a dual citizen in the U.S. and Canada. I spent my childhood schooling in Michigan and my summers on the Ottawa River in Quebec Canada. I lived on a little island called Hoffman’s Island off the L'Isle-aux-Allumettes. There with all my sisters, my brother, cousins, and friends, I had many adventures. The Ottawa River Series of books stem from my childhood memories of actual events and some imagined. I loved growing up on the island as a part of the wilderness there. Every morning I would put on my swimsuit and head out to explore my world. I met interesting people living on the island with us - kindred spirits. There I met Mr. Schultz, Mrs. Redmond, and played on Mr. Troutman’s raft. I fished, swam, went in the swamps, picnicked, climbed trees, water skied, and caught any animal that was slow enough. One of my favorite things was canoeing. I loved to go to Algonquin Provincial Park to camp and paddle. The stories I write are a compilation of my memories and my imagination. I hope you all enjoy them, as much as I enjoyed my childhood there.
