Caleb Smith is the 16-year-old visionary behind Peacebunny Island, a 22 acre animal sanctuary on the Mississippi River where youth guardians oversee the care and training of rare and rescued rabbits who have the personality to become comfort bunnies / therapy animals. Smith lives near Minneapolis with his mom and dad where he mobilizes volunteers to help take care of a colony of furry friends at Peacebunny Cottage and share hope and hoppiness. The Peacebunny Unit travels to bring comfort to with veterans, the grieving or wounded, seniors in assisted living or hospice care, families with special needs, and much more. Smith is also founder of STEM Bunnies, an educational program that fosters science, technology, engineering, and mathematics learning through curriculum designed around rescued rabbits and now... life on the river.
