"Calls for Help" is a collection of poetry or more aptly a collections of "Calls." This collection follows in the tradition of John Berryman's Dream Songs forcing the reader to fight with the words, reading, and even the subject matter to some point. It is less of poetry for the soul and more poetry for the brain. The collection attempts to tell the story of a protagonist confronted with his privilege and the toxic patterns that come out when he has feelings for another.
