Cara Dees (she/her/hers) is the author of the debut poetry collection, Exorcism Lessons in the Heartland (Barrow Street Press, 2019), selected by Ada Limón for the 2018 Barrow Street Book Prize. She holds an MFA from Vanderbilt University and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cincinnati. Her work has appeared in Best New Poets 2016 and 2019, Crazyhorse, Gulf Coast, Harvard Review, Poetry Daily, Ploughshares, and elsewhere.
