Carmel McCaffrey is an Irish author and lecturer on Irish history, literature, culture, and language at Johns Hopkins University and at the Smithsonian Institution in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born in Dublin and now lives in Mount Airy, Maryland. She is an Irish speaker and frequently travels to Ireland.
