Born a prairie girl, raised a west coast kid, dragged off to Ontario as a young teen, Casey learned early a love of place and a desire for travel. Being raised Catholic gave her an interest in the roots and rituals of diverse religions; being one of nine kids precipitated an interest in the abnormal workings of the mind and heart. Casey's mother left all sorts of books around: Les Miserables, Taylor Caldwell's Devil's Advocate, Tom Swift and His Jetmarine... It was inevitable that her literary tastes, and therefore her stories, would be diverse and sometimes antithetical. She had to look up antithetical just now, but it means the right thing, so she's keeping it. I've been a member of LibraryThing for some months now and have been building my library there.
