Exploring the realms of the nearly-possible, Catherine Hughes is an author who writes prolifically in the science fiction and fantasy (otherwise known as speculative fiction) genre, mainly aiming to engage young adults but hoping that everyone will want to read her books! Fond of inventing potential scientific explanations for some of our more pervasive myths and legends, Catherine adores science as much as she loves magic and is with Arthur C Clarke on the possibility that perhaps they are one and the same thing! With some success in publishing non-fiction (magazine articles, web content, a legal casebook) and with her passionate blogging, Catherine once hoped to publish her books traditionally but, recognising a change in the way that the publishing industry works, is now releasing them through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing to a worldwide audience. Catherine's books will always be reasonably-priced or made available free - as much as she is hoping to earn a living, she is simply a storyteller at heart. When not writing, Catherine enjoys running, cycling and, of course, reading avidly across a wide range of genres and subjects. Catherine is also a mother of four who splits her time between North Wales and Cornwall, enjoying the magic and the mystery of both locations.
