When livestock agent Caysen "Case" Anderson is assigned to investigate Sydney Wright's stolen horse, he never expected to see the woman he'd briefly met through a mutual friend. Her fiery red hair and piercing green eyes make it hard to focus on the job, and the regulations against fraternizing with clients only add to his frustration. Still, he's determined to solve this case faster than any before it—the sooner he closes the file, the sooner he can ask her out. Sydney hasn't forgotten the tall, broad-shouldered agent she met months ago, and finding him on her doorstep sends a flutter through her chest despite the circumstances. She knows he won't cross any professional lines until her horse is found, but their paths keep crossing, sparks flying with each encounter. When Case finally apprehends the thieves, their celebration is short-lived, and they clash over how justice should be served. He respects her compassion but stands firm on what years of experience have taught him about handling criminals. As tension builds between them, Case wonders if what they've found together is strong enough to weather their differences.
