When bored romance writer, Ricki Rydell, discovers a body in the bathroom of the Unionville Public Library, she jumps at the chance to solve the mystery behind the woman’s death. As she gets deeper into her investigation, Ricki discovers the victim may have known she was going to die. The cryptic clues she left behind point toward a seedier side of her beloved hometown—one that Ricki never knew anything about. No one in Unionville had nice things to say about the victim when she was alive, but now that she’s dead everyone is hush-hush, sort of like they’re hiding something. Their reluctance to talk tells Ricki she’s on the right track. But when she receives a death threat telling her to back off or she’s next, she thinks she might be in over her head. Not that she’d let that stop her, of course, but it certainly lights a fire under her to solve the case before she becomes the next victim.
