Dr James Larry Allums, Exec Dir, Dallas Inst of Humanities & Culture Assoc Dir & Dir of Teachers Academy, Dallas Inst of Humanities & Culture Former Trustee, Shimer College Allums has taught since '81, teaching HS English & drama in WV & Arlington & Addison, TX. During a career in 2ndary ed, she served as asst principal, curriculum coordinator, lead teacher & dept head. She earned a PhD in literature from the Univ of Dallas in '02 & taught a undergrad Literary Tradition course as well as graduate humanities courses. She's worked at The Dallas Inst of Humanities & Culture, her intellectual & spiritual birthplace since '89, where she's been the assoc dir & dir of the Teachers Academy since fall '04.
