The Patriarchs promised safety. They built white rooms and called them Refinement, marched girls through the doors at eighteen, and taught them to smile while starving. Eve is seventeen when they send her early—labelled troublesome, escorted north to a windowless facility where obedient girls vanish and rumours grow teeth.
Inside, the legends prove real. Feeders—women whose hunger turns carnivorous—aren’t monsters in stories; they are caged, studied, weaponised. When a violent breach throws Eve together with Marilyn, a laughing, blood-slick survivor, Eve escapes into London’s underbelly—and into the path of Joan, the friend she thought dead.
As Eve’s own appetite awakens, she must choose: submit to “correction” and disappear, or embrace the thing the regime fears most and set the city howling.
Darkly funny, relentlessly visceral, and furious to the bone, The Hunger of Her is a dystopian body-horror about a girl who stops trying to be good and learns to bite back.
