Vega is a half vampire who grew up amongst humans after the death of her vampire mother and the incarceration of her human father. Growing up with Amara and her family of humans, Vega found a sister and best friend she never thought to have. But when Amara, an investigative reporter, decides to follow up ‘ludicrous’ news of a vampire attack, she inevitably disappears to Maine without a trace. Intent on finding her ‘sister’, Vega tracks Amara’s last whereabouts, leading her to a secluded city of Grey Pine and in a local eatery, where she meets Marcel, a werewolf and the owner of a local garage/wolf lair. Amidst the already heightened sexual tension between them, Marcel tells Vega of the resident ancient vampires, The Lorcans who may be responsible for Amara’s disappearance. Marcel’s willingness to help find her best friend surprises Vega, bringing the already heightened sexual tension between the two supernatural beings through the roof. Suspicion and loathing play rampant amongst the pack, predominantly from Marcel’s brother Claude. But when Claude and Vega disappear and a vampire decides to visit his home, Marcel has no choice but to go for a hunt.
