D. Gary Miller was an Indo-Europeanist and classicist who received his PhD in Linguistics and the Classics from Harvard in 1967. He subsequently taught at the University of Illinois, McGill, the University of Florida, and the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he retired in 2011.
