D M MACDONALD is an ex-actress, psychiatric nurse, and sculptor, and now writes the crime books she has always loved to read. When her early writing career stalled due to illness she used short fiction to jump start her career. She won many awards with these works but returned to her first love, the novel, in 2018 and has continued non stop from there. Now a grandmother she has written eight full length novels and one novella with plans for many more. It has been a long journey but her sense of humour, a major component of her work, and her love of a rollicking yarn have seen her through. Her other great loves are flying and tennis. Indeed her preferred end is to drop dead on the court aged 101. Her books sit firmly in the mystery, suspense firmament with some romance thrown in. Everything that makes life worth living. Right? She is currently writing the third of the Hannah Tree series, one that is close to her heart.
