Damien DiPlacido was born to daydream. At age 19, he wrote his first work of fiction, a script titled D-Boys, and he hasn’t had a chance to look back since. A crafty writer composing his own style marrying snappy sarcasm with rugged truth, he created a collection of short fiction for the lover of the memoir and the nostalgic at heart. Daydreams of Nottingham began as a many great ideas begin: Several lifelong friends sitting around, enjoying each other’s company, reminiscing on the golden days. The following day—possibly the following week, or year—whenever the haze wore off, DiPlacido got busy dusting off the tales of childhood debauchery he and his pals partook in. While working a journalism internship at Missouri State University, DiPlacido began to mold the stories that would become Daydreams of Nottingham. Porno Tape Jenga was written and published on a literary website midway through 2012. Buried under Home Plate, and Sanders and Sanders go Shopping, were implemented in a creative portfolio submitted to various MFA programs as entry requirements. Several of the programs included were Cornell University, the University of Syracuse, and the famed Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Damien was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, on the city’s south side. His next collection of short fiction is already in the works, though a title has not yet been decided on. In his spare time, he splits his days writing, reading, spending time with his wife Angela and their son Milo, and playing hockey at the local ice rink. Aside from authoring, Damien is an avid bike rider and somewhat of a cigar aficionado. He resides in Overland Park, KS, a suburb of Kansas City.
